SPOTIFY PLUG-IN 2017

We have a new Spotify Plug-in.  It's available for use with any Summit OS based music server.  See more information below.

NEW PLUG-IN FEATURES

  • ADDED LIBRARY SUPPORT

    • Existing album/artist/tracks in client's accounts are now accessible.  This eliminates the need to have to rebuild these libraries from scratch.

  • FIXED FULL PLAYLIST SUPPORT

    • All Spotify-generated dynamic playlists (like Discover Weekly) are now supported.  This fixes a bug where those playlists dramatically slowed down the performance of the system.

    • It also adds access to hundreds of Spotify generated playlists that were previously unavailable.

  • STILL CONTINUES

    • Spotify Family (Multiple account support)

    • Full Control and Search Features (from within any home automation driver)

  • AVAILABLE FOR

    • Summit OS based music servers only.  If you have a legacy Ovation server, email us here with the serial number of the unit and we'll let you know if it's eligible for an upgrade or whether you can take advantage of our generous out-of-warranty trade up program.

A tour through the new Spotify Plug-in.

GETTING STARTED

LATEST SETUP WIZARD

You'll want to make sure that you are using the latest Setup Wizard (click on picture).  Ensure that your music server is also connected to the same network.  The setup wizard will find the latest updates needed to the system and perform them automatically.

NOTE:  If this is a NEW unit, simply select the [Spotify] streaming service, not the "legacy" service.  Enter your username and password for Spotify there.

UPDATING EXISTING MUSIC SERVERS TO THE NEW SPOTIFY PLUG-IN

STEP 1:  TAKE THE CREDENTIALS FROM THE OLD SPOTIFY PLUG-IN

Open the Setup Wizard and to [Manage/Streaming Music Service/Spotify Legacy].  Write down the current username and password.  Once you've written it down, clear it out of those fields and hit [apply].

NOTE:  Do only one Spotify account at a time!

STEP 2:  ENTER THE CREDENTIALS IN THE NEW SPOTIFY PLUG-IN

Take those credentials and now enter them in the new [Spotify] streaming music service and click [apply]. For Spotify Family, do these one at a time.

FINAL STEP:  VERIFY CREDENTIALS

Once you've clicked apply to the on the credentials in the new Spotify plug-in, you will be taken to a Spotify website that will ask you to verify that you wish to share your credentials with your Fusion Music Server.
